Great. So the clock has struck midnight once again and you’ve made yet another New Years Resolution. Another decision. Unfortunately that is not enough!
If you are thinking that somehow this year’s resolution is going to be different, I’m afraid you are going to be bitterly dissappointed. Because for that to happen you really should have started working on your resolution back in November last year.
For your resolution to really work, you need a strong plan to back it up. A plan of action. Because no decision made is ever successful without some affirmative action steps taken to MAKE IT HAPPEN. The result of a decision made at 12:01am on January 1st will not simply spontaneously materialise by itself. Guess what? You have to create it! To do that; you need a plan.
If you are one of the intelligent ones who had the foresight to set an action plan for your New Years Resolution in advance; Congratulations to you and I look forward to hearing about your year full of success, happiness and goal-achievement!
If you forgot to do the necessary pre-planning, your resolution might look something like this:
Like every other year you will probably halfheartedly start working towards your resolution, but not on Jan 1 of course! “I’ll start when I go back to work for the year.”
So you’ve already missed the first 5-10 days of the year. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to about late February before you lose motivation, lose direction and you’ll probably forget what you even set as your resolution all-together! Sound familiar?
Silver lining; It’s not too late to set your plan for 2012 and start achieving everything you DO want and stop ending up with everything you don’t.
Start today. Not tomorrow, TODAY. Stop procratinating, stop making excuses, stop living in denail and start making the life you want right now.
If you don’t do it, who will?
